An iMac has an integrated monitor and connects to a keyboard, mouse, printer and scanner wirelessly, so it can work with no wires tethering it to other devices, and only a single power cord connecting it to an electrical outlet --- making it easy to pick up and move. An unattended iMac can be a tempting target for a thief, especially in an area open to the public. You might want to secure your iMac to a table with a cable and lock to discourage theft.
Instructions
- 1
Place the iMac on a sturdy, immovable table.
2Wrap the lock's cable around the table's leg.
3Insert the lock's shackle through the security slot, a round hole located in the middle of the metal support stand on the back of the iMac.
4Slip the shackle through the loops on the ends of the cable and close the lock, tethering the iMac to the table.
